Guru Ram Das Educational Trust was established with in the year 2004, with the objective of providing and creating resources for quality education in the educationally backward border area of JALABAD (W), District Fazilka. However, the chairman of the trust, Mr. Rana Gurmit S. Sodhi, M.L.A., Guru Har Sahai(Punjab) is of the opinion that the first step towards providing quality education, is to create a pool of quality teachers who would become the flag bearers in the campaign of providing quality education.

His opinion is found to be true as it was found that at present only at 8% of the age group 17yrs-23yrs, are receiving higher education, whereas the national target is 10% for the 10th five year plan, and 15% for the 11th five year plan. This gap in the target was because of shortage of quality teachers. It was the factor that led to the establishment of GURU RAM DAS B.Ed. COLLEGE, in Jalalabad (West) District Ferozepur, Punjab.

GRD has also promoted the development of Genesis Institute of Dental Science & Research, situated at Ferozepur(Punjab) and Guru Ramdas Public School situated at Jalalabad(W), District Fazilka.
